Corporate development

Founded in 1986, the company initially focussed on textile machine control. At the same time, a CAD system was developed for the embroidery industry, the further development of which is still one of our company’s main products today. Activities in the control sector ranged from short seam automats to textile printing machines and the control of embroidery machines. The move to the new company building in 1990 provided space for new employees and an in-house production department.

Since 1998, GIS has been programming automatic testing machines for the automotive industry in co-operation with the Neumann company. Increasingly, attempts were made to offer complete solutions in the field of control technology. The purchased components for identification proved to be inadequate time and again, which led to the founding of the RFID / IDENT technology department in 1997.

One of the first projects was the MagicKey system for quick identification of waiters at cash registers. The control of an attraction in an amusement park using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology was honoured with the RFID Award as the most innovative product in 1999.

Since then, transponder read and write systems have been used for a wide range of applications in textile sorting systems, conveyor technology, access control and time recording. Customer-specific requirements always take centre stage. We adapt their systems to their requirements and needs – not the other way round. For this reason, we use all common interfaces and the necessary data protocols are customised. We attach particular importance to our excellent service. Customer advice and flexibility are our top priorities and make GIS a very successful and noteworthy player in the market environment.
