Grand prize winning design for Eurostitch Magazine 1997.
This design was recognized for the use of color and style of punching.
Moment In Time
First place for Public Prize in Eurostitch magazine contest in
1996. It was recognized for Bonnies unique punching style and use of color. This
same embroidered painting was also written up in Stitches Magazine for Bonnies use
of multimedia fabric paint and appliqué giving her work an impressionistic feel.
Eternity
This is a combination of Bonnies signature color blending
style and fabric clumping technique achieves dimension and shadowing in this fine art
collectable. The source of inspiration was a water color done by friend Linda Kuass.
Fila
Translucent rubber appliqué. This clear rubber with encased sliver metallic
glitter was designed to replicates a rubber patch.
CAT
High Tec vinyl appliqué with an embossed diamond shape pattern. Bonnie used
light density stitching in the back ground allowing the fabric to show through. This was
to achieve a rough gravel appearance.
Arizona (Bonnies Style)
Third place winning design for garments. Recognized for Bonnies punching style
and use of color.
Bubba Gump Shrimp
This small shrimp character based on the movie Forest Gump is
brought to life with tassel technique making it one of the best selling embroidery design
in the chain of Bubba Gump stores in the States.
Autumn Leaves
Bonnies own design and sold to Coldwater Creek was placed
on a womens denim shirt. The leaves are ultra suede appliqués with free standing
edges They are attached to the garment by the decorative embroidery that makes up the
vines in each leaf.
Looping Fish
This looping technique used in the belly of the fish enhancing
the designs playful appearance.
Turtle
This is one of Bonnies most popular embroidery creations.
Winning Grand prize in the Euro Stitch magazine contest 1993, it was recognized for
Bonnies use of appliqué and color harmony. The turtle was also on the cover of
Embroidery Business News in 1995 and was featured in a wearable art article. This turtle
also won first prize for best appliqué design in the Stitches Stitch off contest.
On The Prowl
Bonnie employed her painters technique of color
overlapping and blending to create this embroidery landscape. Her tools, ever carefully
selected colors and light density fills placed at opposing angles, gives the design
realistic depth and dimension.
Lilly
The embroidery that is on this coat is all embroidered in wool
thread keeping the total of warmth. Placed on the back of the coat is one larger lilly,
done with looping giving the design a rich and warm appeal.
Thunder Bird Jet
One embroidered jet, a small sample of the actual embroidered
jacket back, that was done for Michael Cooney, a famous artist for his military aircraft
paintings. |
